Skopelos is famous worldwide for its beautiful beaches, some of which are considered among the best in the Aegean. The crystal clear turquoise waters among the green pines create excellent dreamscapes. Indeed in some cases the trees almost touch the sea. There are beaches which can be reached only by hiking or by boat. A useful tip is not to visit the northern beaches when the wind blows at the port of Skopelos in order to avoid the waves. Instead on such a day the southern beaches will be absolutely calm.
